Intensity 4.6 earthquake hits Gunma on 17th of June

There was an earthquake that was observed with a seismic intensity of less than 5 in Shibukawa city, Gumma Prefecture around 3:27 pm on the 17th.

The epicenter is estimated to be 14 kilometers deep in the southern part of Gunma Prefecture and magnitude 4.6 as the magnitude of the earthquake. Major seismic intensity of less than 5 is observed in Shibukawa City, seismic intensity 4 in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture Isezaki City and so on. According to the police and others, the damage of the building’s tile fell in Shibukawa-shi and Maebashi-shi due to the earthquake, but information on the injured person is not included. According to JR East Japan, the Joetsu Hokuriku Shinkansen has temporarily stopped driving but now it is 19 minutes late after resuming operation. The Japan Meteorological Agency calls out “Please watch out for earthquakes of about 5 weeks maximum, about a week in the future”.
