A total of twelve Filipino basketball teams from the cities of Toyohashi, Nagoya and Nishio attended the opening ceremony of the Okazaki Basketball Winter League 2017. This league is actually a comeback for the league organizers after a couple of years of inactivity.
The event was well-attended by the teams’ followers, families and sponsors. For the opening ceremonies, each team was presented and recognized. An award each for Best Team Uniform and for the Best Muse of the Year was awarded to Team Kapatiran and to Ms. Marylyn Depaz of Team SKT, respectively.
Five basketball matches were held, and the leading teams were Teams Kapatiran, Toyohashi, Philippine Restobar, Nishio and Mevious Sincere thanks to the organizers headed by Mr. MJ Allen for making the event possible. Once again this kind of event made everybody feel closer to home where there is fun, warmth and entertainment. After all, basketball is such a big part of the Filipino culture.
