Video: Let’s Go to Japan by Pareng Don

We stumbled upon the interesting YouTube video above featuring the catchy and inviting song Let’s Go to Japan and didn’t waste time to connect with the man behind the video, Pareng Don. Here’s our short conversation with him:

Can you introduce yourself to Japino.net and everyone?

Hi I’m Don Victoria from Laguna, Philippines. I work in a National Government office as an Engineer. When I’m out of the office, I’m a YouTuber. I do videos of my family life, the music I create and almost everything that I encounter; you’ll be able to watch them on YouTube.

Tell us your story that relates to Japan.

I was given the chance to explore Japan by my office in 2013 together with 2 of my colleagues. We went to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. As official business, we gathered some information regarding agricultural practices in Japan and what we have gathered were very fulfilling for our travel’s purposes. Other than that, the sponsors (JICA) gave us extra activities to know more of the country. Kyoto tour was so impressive; visiting different shrines full of history and colours. In Tokyo, we met JR (lol), the popular transport system known from its timeliness and systematic approach for the convenience of every commuter. And then of course we tasted the delicious Japanese foods! From sushi to tempura udon and the popular Osaka yummy Okonomiyaki.

What’s the story behind your song and video?

The song ‘Go to Japan’ is actually a travel blog translated into music. So it’s the same with what I have explained earlier. To add up, I suggest you should read my blog entitled Japan and my Philippines.
