7,000 Foreign Trainee Work Places Violating the Law
●Announcement was made by Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on August 1, 2023 as the result of 2022 one-site inspections
●7,247 business establishments where foreign technical intern trainees work were found to be in violation of laws
●2,326 violations for Occupational Safety and Health Law: not enough safety conditions at work
●1,666 cases of nonpayment of premium wage violations
●Some case of illegal overtime work exceeding 110 hours per month
●Some cases of allowing work for non-qualified workers.
●According to the Immigration Agency, at the end of 2010, there were approximately 320,000 technical intern trainees in Japan
