As of Nov. 24, 2021: Tokyo Reports 5 Coronavirus Cases; Nationwide Tally 77

The Tokyo metropolitan government on Wednesday reported five new coronavirus cases, down 12 from Tuesday and down 25 from last Wednesday.

The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo is eight, unchanged from Tuesday, health officials said. The nationwide figure is 58, down two from Tuesday.

Nationwide, the number of reported cases was 77. Two coronavirus-related deaths were reported.

The figure fell by 22 from a week ago.

The daily tally has remained below 50 for 39 straight days. It has been under 30 for 13 days in a row.

The seven-day average through Wednesday stands at 14.3, or 67.8 percent of the figure for the previous week.
