After the earthquake that reached a maximum seismic intensity of 7 in Kumamoto on the 28th, the Kumamoto International Center opened a temporary shelter for foreign residents in Kumamoto City. The space was made available for people affected by the disaster or those who do not feel safe staying at home.
Guidance is provided in simplified Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Those in charge are asking evacuees to bring clothes and personal items. Due to the emergency operation, the center’s meeting rooms and other facilities remain temporarily closed to the public.
