FOREIGNERS IN FIRE BRIGADE: increasing year by year
With the increase in the foreign population in the city, the city has opened the door for foreigners to join the fire brigade in 2020 in order for them to play an active role in multilingual evacuation guidance and other activities.
Since then, the number of foreign members has been increasing every year. The City Fire Department will continue to cooperate with the city’s fire brigades to promote foreign residents to join the fire brigade.
Since the start of the appointment, the total number of foreign members has increased year by year, although the number of foreign members in the city’s 20 fire brigades has been small or large. As of August 1 of this year, there were 47 foreign members, the largest number being Chinese (22), followed by Koreans (8), Nepalese (5), and others.
A city fire department official says, “We are grateful that they have joined our group with a sense of mission.”
