MISS JAPAN STEPS DOWN AND APOLOGIZES

Model Carolina Shiino (26), who won the Grand Prix at the “56th Miss Japan Contest 2024,” updated her Instagram on May 5. She reported that she had turned down the Grand Prix.

The following are the comments posted by Ms. Shiino.
“I would like to express my deepest apologies to Mr. Maeda’s wife, his family, and all those involved for any inconvenience this may have caused.

There was a discrepancy between the facts and what I had explained to his office the other day. Confusion and fear have prevented me from telling you the truth. I am truly sorry that I told the people who believed in me and supported me something that was not true.

I take this situation very seriously and have decided to withdraw from the Miss Japan Grand Prix. I have also submitted a request to my agency to terminate my affiliation, which has been accepted.
I am truly sorry for the trouble I have caused and for betraying everyone who has supported me.”
