PINARANGALAN ni US Ambassador Sung Kim ang Philippine team sa pagkakapanalo nito sa 2018 NASA Space Apps Challenge.
Tinalo ng Team iNON ng Pilipinas ang 1,395 pang kalahok mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo sa Best Galactic Impact category sa gawa nilang ISDApp, halaw sa Pilipino word na isda.
Sa pamamagitan ng nasabing app, nakapagpapadala ito ng real-time information tungkol sa lagay ng panahon at karagatan gamit ang NASA GLOBE (Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment) observer data diretso sa analog mobile phone kahit walang internet.
“I am deeply impressed by team iNON’s fantastic achievement in defeating teams from around the world to win first place in the Galactic Impact category of the NASA Space Apps Challenge,” ani Kim sa isang statement.
“They can inspire other Filipino youth to develop innovative solutions to problems in their own communities,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang iNON team ay binubuo nina Revbrain Martin, Marie Jeddah Legaspi, Julius Czar Torreda, Matthew Concubierta at Leandro de Guzman.
Ibinigay ni Kim ang certificates of recognition sa bumubuo ng team, maliban kay de Guzman na hindi nakadalo sa awarding event sa U.S. Embassy sa Maynila.
