Sanrio teams up for Valentine’s Day treats with Japan’s ‘nature’ organic doughnuts company

Floresta is a chain that specializes in organic doughnuts in Japan. Thanks to their success, the shop originally began in Nara and expanded across Kansai, and even further to all of Japan.

They have branches all over the world now, and they are known for their cute, animal-shaped donuts.

But just when we figured they couldn’t get any cuter from their creature creations, they partnered up with one of Kawaii’s leading companies, Sanrio, for some of the cutest seasonal donuts ever.

The designers of Hello Kitty and Gudetama lent the likeness of the company’s signature organic doughnuts to some of their characters.

Valentine’s Day is the next holiday they’re taking. Pompompurin, the pudding-like puppy, and his feline companion, Muffin, are the characters chosen for these amorous treats. It’s the 25th anniversary of the golden retrievers, so he’s the ideal pick for the deal this year.

The lineup appears in two parts. The pair will star on a strawberry flavored white chocolate base from Feb 1-7 in their own full-size doughnut complete with romantic chocolate hearts and dried strawberry sprinkles. They’ll each set you back 450 yen plus tax.
