YAKUZA: SHOT TO DEATH AT STARBUCKS

On March 15, the Ehime Prefectural Police issued a nationwide manhunt for Yuichiro Maeya, 62, a senior member of the Ikeda clan, whose legal address is Mishima Miyagawa, Shikokuchuo City, and whose residence is unknown, on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of a man at a Starbucks store in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture.

Police released a photo of the suspect Maeya and placed him on the nationwide wanted list.
The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on April 14, when Yuichiro Ishikawa, 49, a resident of the city, was shot in the chest with what appeared to be a gunshot wound at the Starbucks AEON Town Kawanoe store in Shikokuchuo City and bled to death.

According to the police, the suspect Maeya is believed to have been holding the weapon and fled on foot eastward from the scene.

According to investigators, there were personal problems between the murdered Ishikawa and the suspect, and the Special Investigation Headquarters has about 200 people working on the suspect’s whereabouts.
