Sharp announced “AQUOS zero” which was the first to be equipped with an organic EL display as a smartphone AQUOS today. They introduced it as the 2018 winter model.

The new smartphone “AQUOSzero” adopted the organic EL for the first time in domestic manufacturers on the display part, and also reduced the weight by using aramid fiber which is also used for ballistic bests etc. on the back side. Organic EL is made by Sharp, about 6.2 inch WQHD + (1440 × 2992 pixels). There is a notch (notch) at the top of the display, and both ends are drawing a curve. It also supports HDR video technology “Dolby Vision” and stereophonic technology “Dolby Atmos”. It has a stereo speaker on the front and the built-in speaker also supports Dolby Atmos.

By adopting organic EL not requiring backlight, magnesium alloy on the side, lightweight and high strength aramid fiber on the back, we realized a lightness of about 146 g. According to Sharp, it is said to be the world’s lightest as a smartphone equipped with batteries exceeding 3000 mAh in type 6 and above.

The processor is Snapdragon 845, the memory is 6 GB. The storage is 128GB, but there is no external memory (microSD) slot. Battery capacity is 3130 mAh. In addition to the heat dissipation performance cultivated with smartphone AQUOS, adopting “parallel charge” which distributes heat by using two charging ICs in combination and suppresses heat generation during charging. Even while charging, it is supposed to be able to enjoy games and watching movies with suppressed fever.

OS is Android 9 Pie, which adopts the Android standard UI. You do not have a home button, you can press the icon at the bottom of the screen, go back to home, swipe and recall the list of recently launched applications. The camera is effective about 22.6 million pixels effective for optical image stabilization compensation, the front is about 8 million pixels effective.

It is compatible with Osaifu-Keitai, IPX 5/8 waterproofing and IP 6X dust protection, and 1 Seg can also be used (it does not correspond to full seg). Although 3.5mm earphone jack is not equipped, earphone jack conversion adapter connected to USB Type-C terminal is included. The main body color is one advanced color black.
