Two Pinoys dead during fishing trip

On the night of the 29th, two foreign men were rescued from drowning in the sea near Kaishima Island off the coast of Imabari City, but both were confirmed dead afterwards.

After 8:00 pm on the 29th, there was a call from a pleasure boat to 118 saying, “A person is drowning off the mysterious island of Imabari.” When the Japan Coast Guard sent patrol boats to the site, one man had already been rescued by a pleasure boat, and another man was found in the sea and rescued, but after that, both deaths were confirmed.
According to the Japan Coast Guard, the deceased were Soriano Ryan Flores (32) and Pazimura Clyde Torres (35), both Filipino citizens living in Imabari City.

The two of them boarded a pleasure boat with four others and a total of seven people, the captain, and went to the sea near Kaijima Island, which is about 1.5 kilometers off the coast of Imabari City, to catch fish. The Coast Guard is investigating the details of the accident.
