Video-sharer denies hand in ‘Bikoy’ series

MANILA – The administrator and registrant of a website that was found sharing the controversial “Bikoy” videos denied Thursday he had any involvement in the series that implicated members of the first family in the illegal drug trade.

Rodel Jayme admitted that he made the website for fellow Liberal Party supporters but said he did not know anything about the videos because he gave the control over the website MetroBalita.net to those who made him create it.

Jayme was arrested earlier Thursday by the National Bureau of Investigation.

“Pakiramdam ko nagamit ako dahil pinagawa sa akin ang website dahil akala ko pinagawa lang yon sa akin para sa magandang hangarin,” he said.

Jayme, a high school graduate, said he is not an IT expert and that he’s confident he will be proven innocent.

He surrendered his laptop and cellphone to the NBI for investigation and has coordinated with the agency to find those who requested him to make the website.

“Sino ba namang tao na gagawa ng kalokohan na gagamitin mo ang true identity mo para malaman na ikaw ang gumawa ng website,” he said.

Jayme revealed he had received threats to his life.

“Dapat daw patayin ako dapat tokhangin daw ako. Ramdam ko na bugso yon ng damdamin. Dinedma ko na lang,” he said.

Jayme is facing an inciting to sedition charge for “scurrilous libelous attacks against the government,” based on his email and Facebook conversations, according to the NBI.
