VIETNAMESE TRAINEES USED AS SEX WORKERS

Eight people, including the manager of a work agency-type brothel, were arrested for sending Vietnamese technical intern trainee girls to a hotel and offering them for prostitution services.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, four suspects, including Shaoqian Chen and Sungjoon Kim, who run a brothel called “Laywa Bishojo” near Otsuka Station in Tokyo, are suspected of sending Vietnamese female employees to a hotel this year and facilitating their prostitution. Four female employees of Vietnamese nationality were also arrested for working illegally.

Most of the female employees are believed to be Vietnamese technical intern trainees or foreign students, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the possibility that the restaurant illegally forced Vietnamese nationals to work there and made approximately 300 million yen in sales.
