Ang Japanese government ay may magandang panukala para sa mga Pinoy tourists sa kanilang bansa. Ito ang pagkakaroon ng visa-free travel. This is according to its powerful ruling coalition and the incumbent government of Japan. Sakali mang ito ay maging ganap na batas sa malapit na hinaharap, makikinabang din dito ang Indonesia at Vietnam. This is actually an integral part of Japan’s revised plan to increase its tourists’ influx to their globally competitive country. In an official press release from one of Japan’s leading agency, it said:
The initiative…is envisioned as Japan seeks to achieve its goal of increasing the annual number of foreign visitors to 20 million in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The incumbent Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe perceives this welcoming development as a strategic move in maintaining Japan’s sustainable economic growth.
In the case of Thailand and Malaysia, a non-visa requirement ay isang matagumpay na hakbang para sa kanilang mga mamamayan na masayang paglalakbay sa bansang Japan. As a result, Japan was able to hit a 10 million mark in terms of foreign visitors who gladly visited the nation within a year sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa kasaysayan ng bawat bansa.
Last year, these 10 million tourists who had an unforgettable historical and socio-cultural rendezvous with Japan had generously included 140,000 Indonesians, 110,000 na mga Pinoys at mga Vietnamese na may kabuuang bilang na 80,000.
Ayon sa Japanese Tourism Agency, their country has to open its doors in the years ahead to pave the way in meeting their expected tourists quota of 20 million travelers in a year. Hence, a visa-free travel to Japan for Filipinos and other Asian countries is truly another a historical achievement for Japan and its people because this will truly strengthen the bilateral relationship between Japan and the Philippines (and the other countries as well) without end.
