WALKING PNEUMONIA FROM CHINA
This winter, managing one’s health is difficult due to the temperature fluctuations. In hospitals in the metropolitan area, there has been an increase in patients with influenza, adenovirus, streptococcus, and other illnesses.
Furthermore, as we approach the end of the year, there is a need for caution regarding ‘Mycoplasma pneumonia.’ In addition to fever and headache, it is said to cause a persistent cough that lasts for 3-4 weeks. In China, infections mainly among children have sharply increased since September. In Korea, the number of hospitalized patients has also doubled in about two months.
Due to its long incubation period, it is sometimes referred to as ‘walking pneumonia.’ By the time one notices it, there is a possibility that it may have become a mass infection (infection affecting a large group of people) or cluster infection.
