Man arrested on the train for groping 16-year-old girl
After he reportedly groped a 16-year-old high school girl on a train in Kanagawa prefecture, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of disrupting public peace.
Police said the incident happened at about 7 a.m. Sankei Shimbun published Monday, aboard an express train on the Sotetsu Main Line between Tsurugamine and Yokohama stations.
A patrol officer was spotted touching the girl’s lower body by Kiu Mihara, a company employee from Hadano Area, and arrested on the spot.
The police said Mihara confessed to the allegation.
According to police records, in December and January 21, the girl, a student from Yokohama, said she had been groped twice by Mihara while aboard the train. After meeting with officers from the Tobe Police Station, an inquiry was initiated by the railway police.
Police claim that for a third time, Mihara targeted the girl and boarded the train to molest her again, although he insists that he was on his way to work.
