A Staff Training course was held on July 11, 2017, at KDDI headquarters in Nagoya, with 32 foreign employees.
The training course was organized by KDDI focused on the care and handling of customer personal data.
One of the speakers pointed out that while the population of Japanese is decreasing, the population of foreigners is growing and among three big telecommunications company in Japan, au would be the only one to have a sales strategy focus on foreigners and for that au is hiring and training foreign sales attendants.
The carrier currently has about 320 stores with au brand in the Tokai region (Aichi, Mie and Gifu). In about 150 au stores they already have foreign sales representative.
