Pistang Pinoy is the 2nd Philippine Festival in Shizuoka City held after 3 years on the same venue at the Aoba Park last Sunday, September 3, 2017 .
The festival organized by the Association of Pinoy Volunteers for Assistance a.k.a. APIVA officially opened with a ribbon cutting done by prominent officials headed by His Excellency Jose C. Laurel V(Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary), Hon. Konagaya Shigeyuki (Deputy Mayor of Shizuoka City), Hon. Jocelyn SY Limkaichong ( Representative, 1st District of Negros Oriental ) Ms. Carmelita Raguiza (Welfare Officer) and Major Sponsor ACT Corporation CEO Masatoshi Kawagishi.
On stage came various dance groups, singers and artists who were applauded by the audience while savoring delicious dishes sold by food stall exhibitors.
Ms. Ana Margarita Teodoro, president and founder of APIVA an organization made up of volunteers who are truly committed to bringing what the Filipino culture has best to offer and making it an avenue for all Filipinos to unite and express their gratitude to Shizuoka for the kindness and generosity it extends to the Filipino community.
