The Luzon grid was placed on yellow alert, the second highest warning, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will be on red alert, the highest warning, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the National Grid Corp said in an advisory.

Brownouts may be implemented in the following areas from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday:

  • Parts of Bataan
  • Parts of Isabela
  • Entire province of Quirino
  • Parts of Quezon
  • Parts of Camarines Sur

The brownouts may be canceled if the system condition improves, the NGCP said in an advisory.

Electricity demand on Monday is projected to peak at 10,619 megawatts compared to available capacity of 10,669 megawatts, the NGCP said.
