5 DEAD IN KOBAYASHI PHARMA PRODUCT SCANDAL

Kobayashi Pharmaceutical has received two new reports of deaths of people who had taken red yeast cholesterol help. Both reports came from the bereaved families and were made on the 27th.

According to the announcement, one of them had used “Red Yeast Rice Choleste Help” and reported that he had kidney disease.
The other person also had kidney disease and reported that he had been using “Red Yeast Rice Choleste Help” since 2021.

The company said that it is still in the process of confirming the facts and causal relationship between the two cases, but it has decided to disclose the information in the interest of prompt disclosure.

The total number of deaths reported so far is five.
The general meeting of shareholders is being held in Osaka City on March 28.

We spoke with one of the shareholders on his way to the meeting.

He said, “If it were medicine, I would expect side effects, but since it is a food product, I thought it was safe, and I guess no one thought it would happen with food products.

”I attended the meeting because I wanted to ask Kobayashi Pharmaceutical to find the cause of the problem as soon as possible and make a public announcement.”
