Balikbayan program will resume soon
Under Executive Order No. 408, series of 1960, former Filipinos, spouse and children of Filipinos or former Filipinos are allowed to enter the Philippines starting December 7, 2020. They are allowed to stay in the country for 1 year, even in the absence of entry visa but must be travelling with a Filipino spouse or children or the family member must be in the Philippines.
This Balikbayan privilege is specifically for children and spouse of a Filipino or a former Filipino only, who is travelling with him. If they are not travelling with the Filipino or former Filipino spouse, and they are just joining him in the Philippines, then they may be allowed to enter if they secure an entry visa, but with a limited stay in the country.
Foreign parents of minor Filipinos are also eligible for entry, but also required an entry visa, clarified Morente. Also, according to Bureau of Immigration, other travel restriction for inbound passengers still remain in effect.
