Natural Ways To Lower Your Cholesterol Level

Cholesterol is found in every cell of the body and has important natural functions. It is manufactured by the body but can also be taken in from food. It is waxy and fat-like in appearance. It is oil-based and so does not mix with the blood, which is water-based. It is therefore carried around the body in the blood by lipoproteins.

 

High level of cholesterol has numerous causes that can be varied in nature. I can be the food or can also be due to the excessive hard drinks consumed by an individual. It is not a disease, but it can really cause many other diseases. Having high level of cholesterol needs to be very careful regarding to his/her health. Here are few ways by which one individual can lower the cholesterol level naturally.

 

#1. Orange juice.

A freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning can help you lower your cholesterol level.

 

#2. Herbal tea.

If you think that your cholesterol level is above average, then you should probably drink herbal tea. It should contain peppers, ginger and warm water. You can also add honey to it.

 

#3. Ginger

Ginger is a natural way to reduce cholesterol and as it thins the blood helping in effective circulation, it becomes much easier for the blood to reach different parts of the body which will prevent several diseases.

 

#4. Chromium

Chromium is an effective mineral to help you reduce cholesterol. It also helps you to maintain your blood sugar level through the proper utilization of insulin. You can try and consume chromium supplements or keep foods that contain chromium such as sweet potato, corn, oysters, shellfish and others as a part of your diet.

 

#5. Grapes

The skin of the grape consists a compound called pterostilbene which really helps in the lowering of the cholesterol.

 

#6. Red yeast

Red Yeast is effective in cutting down the level of LDL ( Low-density Lipoprotein) or what we call “bad cholesterol” and that is good for your health. Red yeast rice naturally contains several ingredients that may help control cholesterol levels. These include a number of monacolins, most importantly monacolin K. It also contains sterols, isoflavones, and monounsaturated fatty acids, or “healthy fats.”

 

#7. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a rich source of soluble fiber that helps in lowering as well as dissolving the cholesterol in the blood. Other than oatmeal, you can also consume legumes and other food items which contain soluble fiber.

 

#8.  Glass of red wine

You can have a glass of wine which raises the HDL (Hig-density Lipoprotein) or what we call “good cholesterol” level which helps you to lower your cholesterol level. Drinking red wine helps you to feel fresh as it has got anti-oxidants to help you stay healthy.

 

#9. Exercise

You can try out jogging in order to get some fresh air to your lungs. You can also try the basics such as stretching and similar other exercises.

 

#10. Eat foods in small amounts

You should take several meals during a day, instead of taking just two meals a day. Try these ways out to have a good and healthy life that is without the accumulation of huge amount of cholesterol in the body.
