Police ruling out criminal act after finding 500 human remains

Japan, Tokyo – The discovery of at least 500 sets of human remains would normally set off alarm bells about ghoulish deeds having taken place, but Tokyo police quickly realized no crime had been committed.
It appears that the home and garden in Adachi Ward where the grisly find was made was once used as the office of a company that was in the business of creating human skeletons for display purposes.
A relative of the deceased house owner explained to police that the late company president had imported the bones for business purposes from India.
According to officers at the Nishi-Arai Police Station, a relative of the company president was found dead at the home last November.
After an investigation, police concluded that the individual died of an illness and no foul play was involved.
Police uncovered the huge trove of bones when they were called to look into the death at the home.
