Tokyo Metropolitan Government plans to build an “underground shelter” in Azabu-Juban Station in preparation for missile attacks, with a view to long-term evacuation

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has decided to build “underground shelters” in Tokyo for residents to stay for a certain period of time in preparation for missile attacks from foreign countries starting in the new fiscal year. The shelters will be built at Azabu-juban Station on the Toei Subway’s Oedo Line in Minato Ward, and the metropolitan government is also looking for a candidate site for an underground parking lot.
