Otherwise known as the Feast of the Black Nazarene (black image of Jesus Christ). It is annually celebrated on January 9 in Manila.
Thousands of Catholic devotees flock to the Quiapo Church in Manila to participate in the procession of the Black Nazarene.
The goal of most of the participants is to wipe a piece of cloth on the image. It is believed that wiping the image with a piece of cloth may somehow absorb the powers of the holy object.
However, due to the religious frenzy of the crowd, many may end up bruised or battered as people fight to achieve their goal.
