UBER, a dispatch application “UBER” used in about 600 cities in 65 countries, including the United States, has started field trials in cooperation with a taxi company for the first time in the country.

UBER is an application that allows you to call a taxi using a smartphone, drive a customer on a private car at a vacant time and earn money. In addition to knowing the driver in advance, since it can be used without payment by credit card only payment, it has gained popularity overseas. However, in Japan, commercial driving of private cars is prohibited, and the introduction is delayed because the taxi industry is strongly rebounding. Under these circumstances, the demonstration experiment of this time was realized by cooperation of taxi company only for dispatch in Awaji Island in Hyogo prefecture where the means of transportation is only a car. The experiment is a taxi of nine companies in nine companies in Awajishima, until the end of next March. Some people say from the business circle that “deregulation on business driving should also be done”.
